Early THORSHAVN Circle Cancels
- Bro III
No bridge lines, no inner circle.
Following the withdrawl of the first Thorshavn bridge cancel there were four different circle cancels used at the Thorshavn post office during the period 1917-45.

The limit for Local letters during the period 01.07.1920 to 31.03.1957 was a radius of one Danish mil (around 7.5km) therefore most mail during this period was sent at the Inland rate.

Sent from Thorshavn to Kvivig at the 15 øre (50g) Inland letter rate that was applicable from 01.01.1927 until 09.07.1940.

This datestamp was only normally used on a Sunday. Here, however, we have a WEEKDAY usage, the letter being sent during the month long absence of a regular Thorshavn postmark between 15 March to 17th April 1933.
