Franked with a pale yellow-green 12 øre Numeral stamp (SG272).

12 øre was the Inland printed matter rate (50g) applicable from 01.05.1955 until 14.04.1963.

The less common Soldarfjordur bridge datestamp is dated on the first day of use at this collecting office. One of the shorter lived datestamps, only in use from 01.06.1962 to 31.10.1967 (when the office at this small village closed).

The cover is addressed to Leivur Lutzen, Landsrættarsakførari (the High Court Judge) in Torshavn.



SANDAVÁGUR
dated 03.10.1963

Franked with a scarlet 35 øre Frederik IX stamp (SG437).

35 øre was the Inland basic letter rate applicable only from 15.04.1963 until 14.05.1965. A scarce usage of this rate that proved to be short lived.



OYNDARFJØRÐUR
dated 26.10.65

Franked with a 15 øre 1963 Opening of the Denmark-Germany Railway commemorative stamp (SG452) and a red-ornge 5 øre Numeral stamp (SG268d).

Type Bro IId

25 øre was the applicable Printed Matter rate to the USA at that time (increased from 15 øre on 15.05.1965) so this cover seems to have slipped through with insufficient franking.

This datestamp was in use from 01.06.1962 until 31.08.1971 when the collecting office closed.



HÓSVÍK
dated 22.11.65

Franked with a scarlet 50 øre Frederik IX stamp (SG439a).

50 øre was the applicable Inland Letter rate from 15.05.1965 until 02.07.1967.

This was the only datestamp used at this Collecting Office which was active from 01.09.1964 until 30.09.1968.
